In response to COVID-19 instructions and orders from the New Mexico Governor, the City of El Paso and El Paso County, Compadres Therapy Inc. will be phasing in face to face services over the next few months. Please contact us by telephone or email to receive more information about our timeline and guidelines for best practices to stay safe as we reopen our face to face equine assisted activities and therapy services for the Greater El Paso and Southern New Mexico Borderland Community.
OUR SERVICES
Compadres Therapy, Inc. strives to match our services with client needs. We customize the services (mounted and unmounted) according to the goals of the individuals or groups to maximize outcomes for success.
Compadres Therapy, Inc. serves individuals identified with attention deficit disorder, at risk youth, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, mental health issues, genetic conditions/disorders, traumatic brain injury, hearing impairment, intellectual disability, learning disability, orthopedic disorders, paralysis, PTSD, speech impairment, substance abuse, terminal illness, violence, abuse or trauma, visual impairment, weight control disorders, as well as those who are socially and/or economically disadvantaged.
In addition, Compadres Therapy, Inc. works with first responders and serves the Fort Bliss military community including soldiers, families, and spouses. Veterans of any branch of the military service are welcome to receive services as Compadres Therapy, Inc. has also worked with veterans from the War in Iraq, War in Afghanistan to World War II.
Equine Facilitated Movement (EFM) / Hippotherapy.
Utilizing the movement of the horse as a treatment tool for individuals who are receiving physical, occupational or speech/language therapy. Treatments are provided by licensed therapists.
Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL).
An education methodology that uses the interactions and development of relationships between horses and humans in an environment of learning and self- discovery. Facilitated by certified instructors or special educators.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP).
Partnering with the horse to overcome mental health issues. Facilitated by a licensed and credentialed mental health professional and experienced horse professional.
Equine Management and Adaptive Riding.
Horse management, horsemanship skills and adapted horseback riding. Facilitated by certified instructors and experienced horse professionals.
